Elevator pitch: The Ballad of Lefty & Crabbe is a lightning-fast, hilarious journey through the perils of show biz during the rise of Hollywood.
Synopsis: Set in the 1920s during the decline of Vaudeville and the rise of Hollywood, The Ballad of Lefty & Crabbe tracks the journey of an ultra-sharp but down-on-their-luck comedy duo as they navigate the rapidly changing world of entertainment. With a cast of eight portraying nearly fifty characters, audiences will quickly lose themselves in this absurd and delightful comic world and leave with smiles on their faces.

Brian Huther, Ben Auxier, and Seth Macchi (Writers)
This writing trio, collectively known as Friend Dog Studios, formed in their hometown of Kansas City in 2014. In the short time since they've collaborated on countless projects of varying formats - always centering around comedy. Their online channel has had multiple viral hits with videos such as Your Drunk Neighbor: Donald Trump and 2016: The Movie. In addition to short form video content they have produced podcasts, award-winning improv shows, live sketch, smash hit Fringe festival plays, and two full length musicals. While the content they generate varies widely in subject matter; their signature blend of humor is always there - smart, absurd, unexpected, and delightful. Ryan McCall (Music Director)
Ryan is a composer, arranger, musician, and music director at The University of Kansas. His involvement in this project began in 2017 when he was hired on as music director and arranger for Lefty & Crabbe's first full production. Previous musicals include Noah's Ark and the rock musical Stillwater, which he co-wrote with Nathan Tyson (Tuck Everylasting, Amelie).
Rusty Sneary (Director)
Rusty is an actor, producer, and artistic director of The Living Room Theatre - an unconventional and artist-focused theatre space in Kansas City. Rusty, an experienced director with a keen eye for new works, originally gave The Ballad of Lefty & Crabbe the greenlight and financing for a Fringe production in 2015, and produced/directed the full two act version as part of The Living Room's season in 2017.
